The College of Sports Media
is now accepting applications for September 2009 enrollment.
For admission consideration to the College of Sports Media Program
students must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Completion of ENG4C or ENG4U, or Grade
12 English, at or above the general level.
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with
courses from College, University or OSSD, at or above the general
level, or equivalent, or mature student status.
- Volunteer experience will be given extra consideration.
- Attendance at an information/assessment session.
The College of Sports Media’s radio/television diploma
program is specifically designed to develop the total junior level
broadcaster. The course content reflects current media needs and
future trends. Practical training is provided on site at the College
of Sports Media’s in house radio station and digital studios. Internships
will be available at stations across Canada during the months of
May through August.
Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
Information / Orientation Session
These sessions are intended to provide prospective students with
an overview of the program, allowing them an opportunity to ask questions.
Applicants will be assessed on three levels:
- A writing test.
- An oral test.
- A one-on-one taped interview with an
instructor.
